Overnight Chia Seed Oats
Overnight oats are so versatile. You can add pretty much anything to your oats: nuts, spices, nut butter, berries, chocolate, etc… Below you’ll find a plain recipe for the overnight chia seed oats with two different options to spice it up: Peanut Butter Banana Overnight Oats and Double Chocolate Overnight Oats. You can even combine the two for a Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana version.
Overnight Chia Seed Oats
Serves 1
Ingredients
Plain:
1/2 cup of oats (Or use the leftover oats from making oat milk)
1 cup nut milk
1 tbsp plus 1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp maple syrup
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
For Peanut Butter Banana Overnight Oats:
Add:
1/2 banana, sliced
2 tbsp peanut butter
For Double Chocolate Overnight Oats:
Add:
1 tsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp chocolate chips
Directions
If using peanut butter, smear it on the sides of a mason jar. Then, add all of your ingredients to the jar. Cover, shake, place in the fridge and let sit for at least 3 hours. Enjoy in the morning for breakfast, as a snack or for dessert!
